What we handle

Currency seizures

Cash seized by CBP at an airport, border or in the mail. Contingency fees: no recovery, no fee.

A seizure notice carries deadlines, usually 30 days from the date on the letter. Call (850) 893-0670 or email sliang@customscourt.com before you respond to CBP on your own. These cases are handled on contingency.

The United States requires a report of cash and cash equivalents of $10,000 or more carried into or out of the country. Travelers who miss the form, declare the wrong amount, or split money among family members face seizure of all of it, and the government keeps most of what it seizes because the owners never assert their rights properly.

The firm has handled currency seizure petitions and claims in every port of entry for decades, in English, Mandarin and Spanish, and it takes these cases on contingency: if the firm does not obtain a return of funds, there is no fee.

A seizure notice comes with deadlines. Call before you respond to CBP on your own.

Talk to a customs lawyer

A call or an email costs nothing and gives an attorney the facts of your matter. We will tell you the fee, or the fee options, before any work begins. Some matters are hourly, some flat fee, and currency seizures are contingency.
